Learn The List of Poker Hands

What is the first thing that comes to mind when mentioning poker? Bluffing, right? Indeed, poker is about a little bit of psychology and tricking the others. You need to read their faces and make sure that they do not realize how great or how bad your hand is. This game is based on the ranking of hands and if you want to learn the list of poker hands, then this is the place where you should start.

Various Rules of Poker, Same Ranking of Hands

The rules in poker are predetermined but irrespective of how many different versions of the rules of poker are, in what concerns the ranking of the hands, it is all standardized. So, basically, that means that no matter what type of poker you play, you will still be looking for the royal flush. If two players have the same hand, the rule is that the one with the highest ranking will win.

Worst Cards in Ranking: The Pairs

Starting from the worst hand, the ranking poker begins with the pair – which means that you have two cards of one rank, while the rest are of different ranking. The next hand on the ranking list is the double pair.
The first comparison is made between the higher-ranking pairs and only if both hands have the same top pair, the comparison moves to the second pair in ranking. The next step in ranking hands is the three of a kind.
This hand is also called trips or set. As usual, the higher ranking hand shall win the poker game.

How to Build a Straight Hand in Poker?

It’s time we got to the better side of the ranking hands. You can get lucky enough to have a straight – five cards of sequential rank and they have at least two different suits. Keep in mind that the Ace can play as a high ranking card or as a low ranking one – being equal to 1. So, pay attention to how you build this hand and win the game.

Flush or Full House – Which Hand do You Have?

The next hand is the flush where we forget about the sequence of the cards and focus on the suit.
Basically, if you have five cards of the same suit, you’ve got a flush. But there is something better than the flush and that is the full house or the full boat: three matching cards of one rank and two matching cards of another rank.
Don’t you wish you had that hand?

List of Poker Hands – The Top Three Hands

The top three hands are four of a kind, royal flush and straight flush. While four of a kind is a pretty clear hand, the royal flush involves having A♦ K♦ Q♦ J♦ 10♦ and the straight flush implies having five cards in sequence and they have the same suit.
If you think about it, the hands are not such a difficult thing to understand. On the other hand, getting the right hand is a challenge and adding the reading of the others, betting and bluffing you get a recipe for a great game.
