For starters, each player should place their bets. The house usually requires minimum bets in order for the game to push in the hand. The dealer then deals every player two cards; basically it is facing up and a set of two cards to himself, the other facing down and the other facing up. An important note to remember is that the players are not allowed to touch and pick up their cards as a house rule.
Players who are on the immediate left of the dealers are usually given the first position. He has the chance to hit, stand, surrender, split or double down their hands.
